A LONGFELLOW/SEWARD PARTNERSHIP

LBA, SCCA & MESSENGER

Since the 1990s, the Longfellow Business Directory has been an important part of the Longfellow community. It was started to help foster better communication within the business community, and it is still linking residents with local businesses. Some things keep going because they’re working. Originally published by the Longfellow Business Association, the neighborhood newspaper, the Longfellow Nokomis Messenger, was pulled in to help with funding by selling advertisements and managing distribution in 2004. Since then the Longfellow Business Directory has been published every two years, and is released with the December issue of the Messenger.

If you’re reading this book, thank the local business community, which has agreed this directory provides an important link to local residents. It is delivered to each home in Longfellow and is also available directly at local businesses. It’s a way for businesses to connect with customers and a way for residents to identify the myriad of businesses within walking distance. It’s something residents can hold in their hands, flip through, and keep in a drawer for easy reference.

The question, “Where did I see that?” becomes a lot easier to answer. You saw it in the Longfellow/Seward Business Directory.

We’re growing this year! The Seward Civic and Commerce Association reached out to be a part of our guide to local living, and readers can now find both Longfellow and Seward business listings inside.
Be sure to tell us how you’re using this book – and how it’s helping you shop local and support the businesses right down the street.
