What’s with Dickerson Park?

After years of driving past the caged black rocks in Dickerman Park on Fairview and University Aves., I simply must discover their purpose. Available online plans mention only park development greenery. Will pretty perennial plants be introduced to them? Become seating for use in warm weather? Outdoor grilling? Labyrinth? Hopefully they will be transformed soon into something attractive.
