GRAND OPENING

Golden Thyme reopens

Posted

There’s a new energy flowing through the heart of Rondo. After months of anticipation, on May 13, 2025, Golden Thyme Restaurant and Bar officially held their grand opening. Once a cornerstone of the community’s coffee and conversation scene, Golden Thyme has returned with a bold new vision: to be a vibrant gathering place where the spirit of Rondo lives on through food, music, and culture.

Under new ownership and with deep respect for its legacy, the space has been transformed into a warm, soulful restaurant and bar that blends modern flavors with timeless community values.

From hand-crafted cocktails and Southern-inspired comfort food to live music (soon to come) and curated cultural events, Golden Thyme is once again becoming a place where stories are shared, history is honored, and the future feels bright.

Located in the heart of the Rondo neighborhood, Golden Thyme is committed to supporting local artists, hosting community conversations, and offering a welcoming space for all who walk through its doors.

The original Golden Thyme Coffee and Cafe was founded in 2000 by Stephanie and Mychael Wright, who also started Selby Avenue JazzFest. In 2023,  the couple sold the coffee shop to the Rondo Community Land Trust. Restaurateur Randy Norman and local chef Adam Randall are behind the newly reopened space.

934 Selby Ave | Sun thru Sat 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
