ON-LINE ADVERTISING

A New Opportunity
The Monitor has just recently opened the the door for
on-line advertisers to buy space on its evolving website. While the
Monitor has used its website primarily to post deadline and print rate information, the newspaper has more recently moved to archive its entire issues on the web. While in the past businesses and ad agencies seeking rate and deadline information paid high compliments to the newspaper for the look and efficacy of its website, we now are feeling the usage of the site dramatically increase as more and more of our readers and the community at large access the site for information beyond rates and dates.

The Future
What that means, particularly for the Twin Cities community which is
known as a national "Hot Spot" for Wi-Fi access, is that soon our
readers will be reading copies of the Monitor while sunning themselves in Como Park. But even before that, as folks are locating back issues of the newspaper to find that real estate agent that advertises, the name of a roofing contractor from a couple months ago, the telephone number of their local print shop, or that very thorough investigative piece on light rail transit that ran 6 month ago, all that information can be accessed through our web site.

Special Offer
What that means for advertisers is that they can purchase on-line
space in the newspaper for a nominal $40 per month on a 12 time contract basis. That will entitle advertisers to a ad which measures 160 pixels wide by 160 pixels deep. Color, flash imagery, and all the bells and whistles that you might find with any other on-line ad will also be available with the purchase of your on-line ad. The on-line ad can be run all on its own, or it could be placed and timed to coincide with a message running in a print ad in the newspaper. The future is here, and our website will offer advertisers the opportunity to partake for a very
reasonable investment.

In addition, because the website is new, pioneer advertisers will
likely see their ads appearing on multiple pages of the site, which
means that visitors to our website will see that ad exposure again
and again as they peruse our website for deadlines, rates, maps,
editorial content and much more.

PRODUCTION CHARGES

Ad production is provided at no additional cost unless the
Monitor must retain a graphic designer to create artwork
